Project Summary:

SET was chosen by PSI to be its on-site contractor for removing 8,100 tons of asbestos-contaminated sand from Winthrop Harbor. SET excavated, loaded and hauled this contaminated sand for disposal, ahead of schedule and under budget.

SET also excavated, loaded and hauled approximately 6,700 tons of clean fill sand from the Prairie Harbor, Wisconsin, location back to Winthrop Harbor. The clean sand will be used to create a new feeder beach from where the contaminated sand had been removed.
